Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician CWR

Location: Bricktown, NJ 08724

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, processing, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment, as well as assembling case carts for the Operating Room. This role is crucial in maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the availability of necessary instruments for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, sort, process, assemble, and sterilize patient care equipment and surgical instruments according to departmental policies.
  • Understand and implement the use of detergents, disinfectants, and personal protective equipment (PPE) while following Universal Precautions.
  • Operate and load sterilizers (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris), ensuring that biological and Bowie Dick tests are properly performed, recorded, and verified.
  • Maintain accurate sterilization records, ensuring all items processed are recorded, labeled correctly, and chemical integrators are checked.
  • Utilize computerized instrument count sheets accurately.
  • Assemble case carts based on surgeon preferences, ensuring all required instruments, drugs, and special equipment are included.
  • Communicate with the nursing team regarding missing items and coordinate with the supply team to address any shortages.
  • Physically able to lift at least 50 lbs., push/pull 60 lbs., and stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Adhere to established organizational competencies and standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • Required: Completion of a Central Processing Course or 1 year of experience in instrument processing.

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Required: National Certification (CRCST or CBSPDT).

Language Requirements:  Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).

Schedule:

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM), Monday to Friday.
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
  • No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.
