Job Description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician CWR
Location: Brick Township, NJ 08724
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 5 days/week

Responsibilities

• Clean, process, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, patient care equipment, and reusable medical/surgical items per established policies and procedures.
• Operate sterilizers (steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris) and ensure that biological tests and Bowie-Dick tests are conducted accurately.
• Accurately complete sterilization records, documenting items processed and ensuring the use of correct labels, chemical integrators, and computerized printouts.
• Assemble case carts based on surgeon preferences and specific procedures.
• Alert the nursing team to any missing instruments or supply shortages and coordinate resolution with the surgical coordinator.
• Adhere to Universal Precautions, PPE protocols, and medical sterilization standards to ensure staff and patient safety.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• Preferred 2-4 years of experience in sterile processing or instrument processing.
• Must complete a Central Processing Course or equivalent experience.

Certifications:

• National Certification required: CRCST or CBSPDT
