Job Summary

Seeking a Structural Engineer. Design and analyze structures with 10 years in refining and petrochemical industry. Proficiency in Staad Pro, SAP2000, and knowledge of national design codes required.

 

Job Description

  • Able to analyze data and understands the relationships and correlations.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and present finding to senior leadership.
  • Proactive about learning new information and skills.
  • Under general supervision, analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs. Design buildings and building foundations, equipment platforms and foundations, pipe racks, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures Prepares quantities, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for projects
  • Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization.
  • Seeks feedback and uses it effectively.
  • Has good understanding of the complete design and has good input into ways of improving the design.
  • Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments.
  • Identifies the customer’s both internally and externally.
  • Handles various assignments, including rework, in timely manner to meet schedule deadlines.
  • Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity.
  • Performs quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy.
  • Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details.
  • Receives limited instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignment from more experienced engineer.
  • Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing.  Present ideas clearly and in professional manner.
  • Familiar with latest national and design codes such as IBC, ACI and AISC.
  • Participates on teams effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Individually contributes to success of the team.
  • Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives.
  • Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers.
  • Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadline.

 

Skills Required

  • 10 years of experience in structural engineering in the oil and gas or heavy industrial market, preferably with EPC experience.
  • Strong technical background in structural analysis and design, steel, concrete and foundation design.
  • Knowledgeable in multiple structural engineering design software such as Staad Pro and RISA Foundation.
  • Familiarity with latest national and design codes.
  • Experience leading a group of engineers and designers and ability to check their work to ensure high quality deliverables is preferred.
  • AutoCAD proficiency a plus.
  • Hands-on FEED and EPC execution

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering minimum required.
