About the Internship
The RockStep Capital Summer Internship Program offers an exclusive, hands-on opportunity for one highly motivated student to gain real-world experience in commercial real estate investment. This one-on-one internship provides direct exposure to acquisitions, finance, and investor relations, while working closely with senior leadership and contributing to live deals.
As part of the experience, the intern will undertake a summer-long market research project focused on real estate acquisitions, culminating in a final presentation to RockStep’s executive team.

Essential Functions:
Summer Project – Market Research for Acquisitions
Conduct market research and analysis to identify real estate investment opportunities
Analyze economic, demographic, and industry trends
Evaluate emerging markets and strategies for RockStep’s portfolio
Present findings to senior leadership at the end of the internship
Cross Department Experience
Acquisitions
Assist in underwriting and financial modeling
Support due diligence: financial statements, leases, asset performance
Conduct property research and competitive analysis
Finance
Assist with financial reporting, forecasting, and investor return modeling
Support capital structuring and budgeting
Analyze deal structures and assess risk
Investor Relations
Prepare investor presentations and financial reports
Participate in investor meetings and capital fundraising efforts
Support stakeholder communication strategies
