About the Opportunity:
2024 is a pivotal year as we continue our exciting growth journey. We are looking for a Tax Manager who is passionate about solving complex problems to help scale our business. You will work closely with a team that brings decades of financial expertise, including experience in investment banking, hedge fund management, M&A, FP&A, controllership, and Big 4 Audit.
In this role, you will report directly to the VP of Finance and gain exposure to a wide range of financial activities and operational complexities. You'll take ownership of domestic and international tax operations while collaborating with accounting, finance, and legal teams. This is a key role in enhancing our financial processes as we work toward an IPO.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Oversee domestic tax operations, including the management of federal and state tax accounts, annual filings, and payments, in partnership with external tax advisors.
Lead international tax operations, including corporate income tax, GST/HST, and transfer pricing, in collaboration with external advisors.
Manage the tax aspects of month-end closings, including tax accruals, reconciliations, and analysis.
Take the lead on the tax provision process for annual reporting, financial audits, and the preparation of tax-related financial disclosures.
Implement and manage sales tax requirements across different states for various revenue operations.
Stay informed on tax legislation changes and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Provide guidance and research on complex tax matters, including NOL utilization, sales taxes for SaaS, and other topics relevant to business transactions.
Develop tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and support financial goals, including optimizing state tax exposures and footprint.
Assist the legal and HR teams with annual filings and census surveys, providing input on the company's financial position and performance.
Support general accounting operations as needed.
Ideal Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation required; Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
7+ years of relevant tax experience, with a mix of public practice (Big Four) and industry experience preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
Experience with IPO readiness is strongly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience with tax software and Netsuite (preferred).
