University of Puget Sound Visiting Assistant Professor - Chemistry Job ID: 8098

Full/Part Time: Regular/Tempoary: Faculty Posting Details Appointment: The Chemistry department at the University of Puget Sound invites applications for two one-year full time Visiting Assistant Professor positions to begin Fall term 2025.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities for one of these positions will be primarily in introductory chemistry courses and labs, and teaching responsibilities for the other position will be primarily in Organic Chemistry courses and labs. Candidates should indicate whether they would like to be considered for either or both of these positions. These positions involve teaching, on average, 3 units* per semester (Fall and Spring). Supervision of undergraduate research is welcomed. The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department has excellent instrumentation ( ).
*Units are equivalent to one course.
Qualifications: It is preferred that candidates have a PhD in Chemistry by the start of appointment and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Candidates who are close to completing their PhD or Master's level with teaching experience will also be considered.

Faculty salaries at the University of Puget Sound are based on a common salary scale based on experience. Assistant Professor salaries for 2024-2025 begin at $72,265 annualized for an Assistant Professor without a terminal degree in their field in their first year of full-time postdoctoral teaching through $81,428 annualized based on experience.
