Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator - Berkeley, Ca Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator – Berkeley, Ca PURPOSE The Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities for WL process areas including but not limited to receiving, production transfer, and shipping to ensure compliant, effective, and efficient warehouse and logistics operations. The scope of the role encompasses the processes for warehouse and logistics functions for biologics development and clinical or commercial manufacturing facilities at the Berkeley site.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities The warehouse and logistics coordinator will be interchangeably assigned to Operations Support or Logistics Execution, based on business needs.
Operations Support: - Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and coordinate JIT warehouse operations activities for clinical manufacturing within Cell & Gene Therapy;
- Collaborate with building owners to participate in and support building changeovers;
- Participate in PSS Huddles to assess material requirements for the JIT to support the clinical runs;
- Coordinate with Pipeline Management from production schedule to process transfer orders;
- Generation of Transfer Orders to support clinical manufacturing;
- Support JIT warehouse set up inclusive of determining the storage location, bins, and Min/Max levels;
- Main coordinator for all SmartBuy materials receipt/tracking/delivery for the site;
- Support the JIT-related SOP’s creation and updates as required;
- Manage and execute inventory control responsibilities for the JIT warehouse - cycle counting, reconciliation, and expiry (Global Scrapping Tool) monthly;
- Manage JIT Warehouse: Ensure JIT is stocked, coordinate delivery of materials to JIT, and receive deliveries from Main Warehouse;
- Support and coordinate material movements to an off-site storage facility;
- Coordinate transfers from CGT buildings to the warehouse;
Logistics Execution: - Coordinate deliveries for international shipments between Berkeley Site and customers, employing knowledge of logistics processes, transportation requirements, and global commerce regulations;
- Execute customer orders via a strong SAP / APO system knowledge, while verifying customer credit status, providing for special billing requirements, and generating required export documentation;
- Coordinate efficient logistics execution of commercial and clinical products for the Berkeley Site, including the movement of temperature-controlled freight through carrier management;
- Coordinate all customer product supply export requirements for existing and potential new products for the Berkeley Site and provide customized solutions including the movement of temperature-controlled freight through carrier management;
- Manage internal customer order/export process, and logistics, and liaise between various internal partners to ensure the timely fulfillment of customer demands;
- Manage logistical requirements for customer orders and provide SME support for shipments from Clinical and Research Development;
Additional duties include, but not limited to:
- Support the implementation of the ‘fit for future’ warehouse strategy, warehouse control systems, and procedures according to the cGMP guidelines;
- Exhibit and drive safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement mindset and performance;
Safety: - Support Behavioral Based Safety Program and ensure adherence to safety priorities;
Quality & Compliance: - Drives Quality mindset through ownership and self-assessments. Continuously seek opportunities for improving overall compliance and discrepancies. Ensure determination of the root causes of discrepancies and write-offs and implement effective corrective actions to minimize them. Ensure adherence of operational process activities to applicable corporate policies, global Bayer Directives, and multi-site SOPs, and are cGMP compliant;
Continuous Improvement: - Drive process improvement methodology/framework "Product Supply System" (PSS) within the Warehouse and logistics department and contribute to the Site PSS phase progression.
Who You Are Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
- Understanding OSHA, GMP, ISO, FDA, and DOT regulations;
- Proficient in computer skills – including Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Outlook Excel, Teams) and good working knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management System;
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally at all levels of the organization. Has satisfactory interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset;
- Organizational skills to coordinate and support all phases of the operations;
- Able to work independently/self-directed with minimal supervision;
- Strong ability to plan and prioritize complex and conflicting activities;
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and solutions;
- Highly committed, determined, results-driven, and persists in the face of challenges and setbacks;
- Committed to quality and safety as a fundamental component of how work is accomplished;
- Strong analytical skills to identify risks and make balanced decisions;
- Personifies the values of the company both internally and externally. Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency, always treating each other with transparency, fairness, and respect;

Preferred Qualifications - High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of warehouse/logistics experience in pharmaceutical operations, preferably biotech, or Associate’s or Completed commercial vocational training with 6+ yrs of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with 4+ yrs of relevant experience;
- Experience in a union environment;
- Knowledge of Process Improvement methodologies (E.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) a plus.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $68,480.00 to $107,720.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
