The Warehouse Manager plays a vital role in driving the success of Danessa Myricks Beauty’s distribution. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient order processing, inventory management, and logistics for both retail and e-commerce. The ideal candidate crucial; must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse and Distribution Management:
    • Oversee all warehouse operations, including order processing for both e-commerce and retail, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and maintaining efficient layout and space utilization for retail and e-commerce areas.
    • Ensure adherence to Good Warehouse Practices and maintain inventory accuracy, managing systems like NetSuite ERP , WMS , and Shopify for seamless operations.
    • Establish and refine processes for on-time delivery , order accuracy , and inventory management , especially during peak periods (e.g., promotional events).
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership:
    • Work closely with the Danessa Myricks Leadership Team to discuss growth initiatives and long-term strategic plans, including phased organizational changes and shop floor controls.
    • Play a pivotal role in setting up and optimizing distribution center layouts for maximum operational efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement in ERP systems , and actively contribute to the strategic plan for managing e-commerce orders during high-demand times.
  • Team Development and People Management:
    • Lead and develop the warehouse team to meet the evolving needs of the business, including training staff on warehouse systems, equipment, and safety protocols.
    • Build a strong culture around the Danessa Myricks brand , ensuring team members embody the company's values and goals.
    • Manage temp staff during peak periods, ensuring they are properly trained and aligned with operational needs.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that warehouse operations adhere to safety protocols, including OSHA compliance and maintenance requirements.
    • Manage forklift training and certifications, and implement a robust safety program for all warehouse employees.
  • Logistics and Cost Management:
    • Oversee logistics , including scheduling inbound and outbound shipments and optimizing costs associated with transportation and warehousing.
    • Monitor and control the monthly warehouse/DC cost to ensure budget adherence and identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
    • Provide regular updates to Danessa Myricks ELT on KPIs related to service levels , safety , inventory accuracy , and warehouse performance.
    • Track performance metrics such as orders processed , on-time shipments , and order accuracy to ensure operational excellence.


Physical Demands:


The role may require occasional standing, walking, and the ability to lift or move materials in a warehouse environment. The employee must be comfortable working in this type of physical setting.


Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in warehouse management, logistics, and team leadership, particularly in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems ( NetSuite ERP , WMS , Shopify ) and a good understanding of inventory management and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated success in people management , team development, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to think strategically, plan for long-term growth, and adapt quickly in an entrepreneurial setting.
