Construction Attorney

Career Consulting Partners has partnered with an established firm with offices in five major commercial centers across the state of California. For over 70 years, they have kept pace with California’s growth, and with more than 100 attorneys, they have the resources and experience to offer the highest quality representation in a wide variety of legal matters. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Attorney with a construction litigation background to join our growing team.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Will be representing both public and private sector clients in a variety of complex construction disputes. 
  • Our Construction Group provides comprehensive services to the construction industry, including contract drafting, risk management, and litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction law, a deep understanding of industry standards, and proficiency in managing complex construction-related claims and disputes.

DUTIES:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and specifications.
  • Advise clients on contract terms, financial considerations, and title/land use issues.
  • Counsel clients on risk management strategies and insurance coverage.
  • Handle professional liability coverage disputes and indemnity issues.
  • Represent clients in bid protests, mechanic's liens, stop notices and delay claims.
  • Address subcontractor substitution disputes and contractor licensing issues.
  • Manage Miller Act claims, bond disputes, and construction defect/accident litigation.
  • Represent non-profit organizations, including hospitals, museums, colleges, and school districts, in construction-related negotiations and disputes.
  • Represent developers, design professionals, general contractors, and lenders in litigation involving a variety of project types, such as commercial buildings, housing developments, high-rise structures, hotels, and industrial facilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the CA state bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction law and litigation.
  • Strong background in construction contracts, risk management, and industry regulations.
  • Proven litigation skills with a track record of managing complex cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client service.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $230,000
  • Plus performance-based incentives include percentages for origination, collections, profit sharing, and realization rates. We can delve into more details to find mutually beneficial terms.
