Job Description

Join us as a IB Analyst Biotech/Pharma at Barclays where you’ll have the chance to provide innovative financial solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. You will be working on a variety of assets and assignments across the sector, while supporting the Biopharma team. You’ll make use of your communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring fast and unparalleled customer service to our clients.

To be successful as an Investment Banking Analyst- Biotech/Pharma, you should have experience with:

  • Financial Modeling and Analysis

  • Ability to dissect income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and debt transactions

  • Support M&A, IPO and secondary offering processes

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Project Management

  • Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg

  • Ability to comprehend technical biotech concepts

  • Healthcare Experience

You may be assessed on the key critical access for success in the role such as financial modelling, financial statement, and macroeconomic analysis and provide support to our Biopharma team, as well as job specific technical skills.

Additional relevant skills in investment banking, equity research, and financial modelling and a good understanding of financial statements, and valuation techniques are highly valued.

This role is located in our San Francisco, California office.

This role is regulated by FINRA.

Minimum Salary: $110,000

Maximum Salary: $135,000

The minimum and maximum salary/ rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies  

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.   .
  • Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.  .
  • In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.  .
  • Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.  .
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.  .
  • Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable.  .
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.  .
