Job Description

MDE is growing! We are currently looking for talented, educated and caring postpartum doulas, available to provide daytime and/or overnight support sessions, to join our perinatal support team. At MDE we provide in-home postpartum doula support sessions to support new parents as they navigate what it means to keep a tiny human alive. Our postpartum doulas support our families with anything they need during their postpartum journey, whether that is emotional or physical support, postpartum and/or newborn education, lactation/feeding support, the list goes on. We are looking for a postpartum doula who has a flexible schedule and is able to provide support as needed on an ad-hoc basis, as our client families partner with MDE for support.

To be successful in this role, you must be a direct communicator and someone who is proactive, organized and self-motivated. You must have over 3 years of postpartum doula experience and have completed a postpartum doula training. A postpartum doula and/or lactation certification is preferred but not required.

Location: NYC's 5 boroughs

Start date: ASAP

Days/times: Flexible schedule, postpartum sessions can occur Mon.-Sun. and last at least 3 hours long. We are looking for postpartum doulas who are available for day-time sessions and/or overnight sessions.

Compensation: $45 per hour paid via direct deposit bi-weekly as a W2 employee of MDE

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

Authorization to work in the US

A minimum of 3 years' experience as a postpartum doula

A strong understanding of the postpartum period and postpartum healing

Foundational breastfeeding education with experience supporting new moms in breastfeeding

Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to the newborn baby (meal prep postpartum meals, baby laundry, clean/sanitize bottles, home organization, etc.)

Openness to working in a household team (some of our families will have a nanny present)

A professional appearance and fluency in written English
