Job Summary

Take food and beverage orders and efficiently deliver items to dining room guests. Provide continual service for the duration of the guests’ visit including cleaning & clearing the table and service items. Issue guest checks and collect payment at the conclusion of the service. Set up and break down dining spaces and events.


Key Responsibilities:


• Adhere to location appearance guidelines.
• Act with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
• Employ good safety and sanitation practices.
• Follow responsible alcohol service policies.
• Understand the importance of maintaining equipment and execute accordingly.
• Ensure that the dining room is properly cleaned and set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat during service while meeting established sanitation standards.
• Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences. Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
• Establish rapport with guests and understand suggestive and upselling techniques.
• Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to get along well with others. Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
• Present & collect guest checks and follow proper payment procedures.
• Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
• Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
• Perform post event product inventory and restock as needed.
• Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, beverage machines, food merchandisers, production and storage equipment.
• Work in other departments to perform job duties during special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


Essential Job Duties:


• Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate physical stamina required to be mobile for long periods.
• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.


Requirements:


• 2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• An outgoing personality is preferred.
• Ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing an exceptional experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively by writing, speaking and comprehending English
• The ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
